Work to be Done
Happy Tuesday
Welcome back, I feel like we’re starting to hit our stride here in week 3, the ideas are flowing, and I will have some good topics in the coming weeks. I hope I’m providing some new info for some of you and fair warning these will get weirder as the weeks go on until it’s just me yelling into the void.
Without further ado….
Nutrition tip of the week: Bone Broth
Bone broth can be expensive but gut health is arguably one of the most important aspects of your health and many chronic diseases and even affects anxiety and depression. Bone broth in the mornings could be your savior. Beef bone broth is a bit more beneficial, but chicken bone broth will also help your gut.
Benefits
Great for gut health and soothing inflammation
Highly nutritious
Better Sleep
Weight/Fat Loss
Joint protection: has gelatin, breaks down into collagen to support joints
Bone Broth while fasted (in the morning) is one of the healthiest things you can do for your digestive system.
One of my personal favorites:
Esoteric Health Tip of the Week: Morning Sun for Gut Health
Waking up earlier helps align your circadian rhythm. Having a proper circadian rhythm has countless benefits but the one I want to focus on today is gut health.
The circadian rhythm is in charge of
Hormone synthesis
Mitochondrial function
General digestion
Bile production
Toxin elimination
Immune function
It’s a boring life for some but consistent bedtimes and waking up with morning sunlight is important for these systems to function properly. Your body knowing what time it is helps everything stay in check. Consistent mealtimes also aid with this.
Work in some bone broth once a week fasted along with some sun in the morning before your iced coffee and see if your tummy troubles start to subside.
Home Workout Tip of the Week: Resistance bands
I started this little hack during Covid when the gym was taken away from me. Outside of my dad’s rusty dumbbells from 1976, I had nothing, and workout equipment online was at a premium. I found resistance bands on Amazon for 10 bucks, and I started using them every day because you can do half of these exercises sitting down. Makes for the perfect half-ass workout.
Benefits
Strength and Flexibility
Toning
Mobility
Good for working through injury (low impact)
Portable (I bring them on vacation)
Exercises you can do are seated curls, tricep extensions, rows, glute bridges, squats, lateral walks and a ton more. Experiment and see what you like.
These are the ones I use: Fit Simplify Resistance Loop Exercise Bands with Instruction Guide and Carry Bag, Set of 5 : Sports & Outdoors
Morning Motivation:
“We don’t need to be perfect… we just need to get started. Continuous improvement is better than delayed perfection” – Mark Twain
Start today.
Song of the week: Zombie (Zombic & Felix Schorn Remix)
That is all for now, for those of you just starting your week on this Tuesday after the holiday weekend, it’s basically already over. Don’t let the lull after the weekend get you down, get up and keep it moving.
