Attack the Week
Brief post today while I await my unemployed friend and upcoming special guest to make time for our joint project. Its alright he’s busy. I have others in the pipeline if he’s not ready to step up to the plate but we will give him one more shot. Some of you may have enjoyed a long weekend followed by a nice short week. Let this week be the one you accomplish tasks you have been putting off for far too long. Whether it be physical or mental, attack a task that seems uncomfortable and daunting. Find your momentum and get after it relentlessly.
If you need any extra motivation, watch college basketball coach Rick Pitino fire up his team at halftime:
“You don’t get down when things go wrong. You dig in and get tougher. Your whole life’s gonna be adversity. Learn how to deal with it.”

This clip from the documentary following him and St. John's this season. They were down by 13 at halftime and came back to beat Providence 72-70. If you are in a March Madness office pool this year, pick this St Johns to make a run.
Lettttt’s go…
Workout of the Week: Isolation Presses
Single Arm Chest Press
You can perform any chest press variation as a single arm alternative. This a way to minimize muscular imbalances between the two sides. Some may notice one side being significantly stronger or developed than the other. This is normal, however it can be mitigated through isolation presses. So incline bench, decline bench, flat bench, machine presses or the floor.
The single arm dumbbell chest press works the pecs, deltoids, and triceps, but what you may notice most is that it recruits your CORE muscles for stability. Excellent variations to freshen up your workouts.

Nutrition Tip of the Week: Pho
Pho (pronounced “fuh”) is a Vietnamese soup dish consisting of broth, rice noodles, herbs, and meat – usually beef or chicken. It is a great takeout or dining out option for those avoiding processed crap, oils, emulsifiers, etc. Proper pho broth isn’t some watered down stock, it’s a 48 hour extraction process that pulls gelatin, glycine, proline, and trace minerals straight from the marrow. It is a collagen powerhouse which supports glowing skin, strengthens joints, improves gut health, and fuels metabolic repair at the cellular level. (More on Collagen Discussed a couple months ago)
One of my favorite pastimes is finding a hole-in-the-wall Vietnamese restaurant on a cold day and dining by myself while having a large bowl of Pho. Maybe mix in a little Sake. There’s a million of them, but make sure to find the right one. Soothing for the belly and the soul. Also a great remedy while ill or hungover. Get down with some more Pho.
Study of the Week:
Avoiding your problems can actually improve mental health.
After training to blocking out fears, people were far less anxious and less depressed 3 months later. Especially those with PTSD.
Not all concerns demand our attention. Some thoughts are worth dismissing.
Treat of the Week:
Load up on a little extra coffee this week while we’re getting shit done. And don’t be afraid to sweeten it up with this special little creamer. All natural ingredients, easy on the stomach and just enough sugar where its not too sweet. There are a million flavors to chose from. Give a splash a try in your morning Joe.
